An Open Letter to a Privileged White Girl

Black Millennials

Dear Skinny White Girl Who Does Yoga,

I hope you’re well after the treatment you’ve been getting online. Tonight, I read your article, and as I’m sure you can imagine, I was upset with you. Through your discomfort, you interpreted her actions to be one of anger, tragedy, and despair that, for some reason, was solely directed towards you and your “tastefully tacky” yoga outfit.

Imaginary hostility

You then had an epiphany of sorts. What that epiphany was, I’m still unclear. Perhaps you got your first introspective taste of intersectionality; of how body image for Black women is particularly brutal and confusing. Or maybe you acknowledged how African Americans cannot enjoy modern delights without causing the suspicion of the white privileged…

I know what works best for the body and I need to stick with that. So, articles like this not only reiterates what I know but motivates me to stick with it.

Diet Soda and Diet Drinks Make You Fat and Cause Type 2 Diabetes?!?

Great read and info!

Okay so my drink of choice is 1st water and then wine. I need to cut the wine down to once a week but other wise I’m pretty happy with what I drink most of the time. But I know a lot of people out there that drink a lot of diet soda. 😦 I’m sure if you google it you could find something on the internet that its good for you in some crazy out there way. But I think there is a lot more information out there stating that it is not good for you and how bad artificial sweeteners are for you. (But that is another post all in its self. lol My husband and I do not and will never use them or give them to our son) But anyways. Here is a pretty good article I found about diet soda.

Kevin Ogar, a Crossfit trainer in Englewood, Colorado, was performing a 3 Rep Max Snatch when he lost control of the bar overhead.

He was unable to get out of way in time, resulting in the bar damaging his T11 and T12 vertebrae, and severing his spinal cord.

Kevin currently has no feeling below his waist.

Weightlifting is dangerous. Whether it is Power lifting, Bodybuilding or Olympic lifting is irrelevant. There have been life-changing injuries in all of these sports, as well as deaths.

Crossfit is no different. One trainer even publicly came out, stating that clients should expect to get injured… it’s Crossfit.

How does Crossfit differ from all other types of lifting?

Kevin was competing in a competition that consisted of nine…
