Yard Sale Treasures!

Let me start off saying, I love yard sales! Love them! Last Saturday, I was tipped off about a yard sale of the year. Not only was I told it has all the toys I could ever want for my daycare but the signs posted says 10 am, but I can come at 8. So yes, I was there at 7:45 in the morning. Though the white haired ladies had already stake their claim to about 65% of the toys for their grandbabies, some of which weren’t even born yet, I was still able found some toys and books that the kids already love. But what’s more important is the first item I saw, a complete Gold’s Gym Multi Purpose Bench.  I am not sure the exact model but it has the barbell holder, leg extension and the butterfly equipment for the arms. It looks something like this:

Gold's Gym

It also included two complete different sets of plates from 5 lbs to 45 lbs, the long barbell and two dumbbells all for $20! Yes $20! So I did a little research, as always, and if I added everything together, the retail price would come close to $200. If that’s not a steal, I don’t know what is! I’ve always loved yard sales and I am known to pick up random items I see on the street (one man’s trash is Robbin’s treasure!) but this is by far the best.

Okay, so I know everyone wants to know how I like working out with it at home. Let me tell you, it is awesome! I walk out the door into the garage and get busy! Now, I’ve always been able to workout at home with free weights and my yoga ball. But since I’ve started the day care getting in some real lifting has been difficult. I love children! But after spending almost 10 hours a day with them, the thought of leaving my house to go to the gym is exhausting in itself. Now, I don’t have to. However, I do have one con so far. One benefits of going to the gym are the people. I never thought I would say that, but it’s true. The majority of my complaints about the gym are all the other people. But hear me out. Tuesday was my chest day, I’m excited, I can finally do some bench presses but I realized the closer I get 100 lbs, the more I need a spotter. There wasn’t one insight! So I couldn’t max out or challenge myself without the fear of injury. Not a full workout, but hey, it’s better than nothing! And I’m still happy for my new bench. And all for $20!
